Editorial Policy
How we source, verify, and maintain visa information for Indian passport holders.
Last updated: March 2026
Times of Visa relies on official government sources to verify visa requirements. Every piece of information on this site is reviewed by our editorial team before publication.
Our Mission
Times of Visa exists to give Indian travelers clear, reliable visa information — free of charge. We know that navigating visa requirements can be confusing. Rules change frequently, information is scattered across embassy websites, and outdated advice circulates freely online. Our editorial team works to cut through that noise and present verified facts.
How We Source Information
Every visa guide on Times of Visa is built from primary sources:
- Official embassy and consulate websites — the definitive source for visa types, fees, document checklists, and processing timelines.
- Government immigration portals — national immigration authorities that publish entry requirements and policy updates.
- Ministry of External Affairs (India) — for advisories, bilateral agreements, and travel notices relevant to Indian passport holders.
- IATA Timatic — the database used by airlines worldwide to verify passenger travel document requirements.
We do not rely on forums, social media posts, or unverified third-party blogs as primary sources. If community reports surface a possible change, we verify it against official channels before updating our content.
Our Verification Process
Every page goes through a structured review before publication:
- Research — A team member gathers current requirements from the primary sources listed above.
- Draft — The information is written in plain language, structured for quick scanning, and tagged with source references.
- Editorial Review — A second team member cross-checks facts, verifies source links, and confirms consistency across related pages.
- Publication — Only after review does the page go live. Each page shows its sources in a dedicated section at the bottom.
How We Keep Content Current
Visa rules change — sometimes without warning. We use several methods to stay current:
- Automated monitoring — We track official RSS feeds and government news portals for policy changes that affect Indian travelers.
- Scheduled reviews — Every country guide is reviewed on a recurring cycle. High-traffic destinations are checked more frequently.
- Reader reports — If a traveler reports outdated information through our contact page, we investigate and update within 48 hours.
When a visa requirement changes, we update the affected page promptly and note the change date. We do not silently alter old content — significant updates are flagged.
What We Do Not Do
Transparency means being clear about our boundaries:
- We do not process visa applications. We provide information and connect you with licensed service providers. The actual application is submitted through official government channels or authorised agents.
- We do not guarantee outcomes. Visa approval is at the sole discretion of the issuing country's authorities. Our guides help you prepare the strongest possible application — they are not a promise of approval.
- We do not publish speculative information. If a policy is rumoured but not confirmed, we will not include it in our guides. We wait for official confirmation.
- We do not hardcode prices. Visa fees and service costs are shown dynamically from our booking partners so you always see the latest numbers — not stale figures baked into a static page.
Our Editorial Team
Content on Times of Visa is written and reviewed by Sushant Mahajan (Travel Policy Editor) and our editorial team. The team brings combined experience in travel documentation, immigration policy, and digital publishing. Every guide carries a byline and a "verified by" attribution so you know who stands behind the information.
Affiliate and Commercial Relationships
Times of Visa earns revenue through advertising and affiliate partnerships with visa service providers. These relationships never influence our editorial content. Our guides recommend the same requirements regardless of whether a commercial partner is involved. When we feature a service provider, it is clearly marked.
